Its versatility allows a connection to any heating spiral with an output of 2–3 kW in any accumulator or storage tank. It is fully functional even at places without any electricity supply from the grid. Compared to phototermic systems, there is a considerably simpler installation of lines and de facto zero operating and maintenance costs. In addition there is no system stagnation in case of energy surpluses but the arisen surpluses can be utilized across the DC output. With reduced prices of photovoltaic panels during recent years there is a possibility to use them for service water heating. The Czech product called SOLAR KERBEROS follows this trend and offers a compact solution with all necessary functions for a maximum versatility. It is designed to be used with a maximum of six serially cascaded mono or polycrystalline panels with a total maximum power of 1.5 kW, a maximum voltage of 280 V and a current of 8 A. To maximize the solar gain, the integrated MPP tracker with DC / DC converter with an operating range of 120 – 260 V is a matter of course. SOLAR KERBEROS does not have to be charged from the electric grid. It can operate in a fully insular mode which is an important assumption for objects without any electricity.

Your solution for a complete heating

SOLAR KERBEROS offers much more. In case of insufficient heating from the sun it ensures a remaining water heating from the grid. It can be combined with any electric device of 2–3 kW, including those devices which are an integral part of the existing boilers. The solar heating and the remaining grid heating is carried out in one joint unit only; therefore it is not necessary to install any second heating device. For devices with a built-in thermostat it is necessary its deactivation. All devices without any thermostat can be used without any modifications. SOLAR Kerberos takes over the function of the operating and safety thermostat. Eventually it also ensures the remaining heating from the grid. It is also possible to use a low tariff signal to optimize the grid heating costs. You can use other methods of remaining heating (heat pump, gas, solid fuel boiler, etc.) without any limitations.

DC output for utilising the energy surpluses                                     

SOLAR KERBEROS has a DC output with a possibility of utilising the solar energy surpluses when the accumulator is warmed up to the preset maximum temperature. The output voltage is adjustable in a wide range including standard values of 12, 24 and 48 V. DC output can be connected to an additional appliance, battery charger or to produce alternating current via a DC / AC inverter. This is advantageous in buildings without any electricity from the grid.
